The Tradition of Something Borrowed represents that friends and family will be there for the bride and groom on their special day, and for the rest of their lives. Borrowing is important since it must come from a happily married woman, in essence giving the new bride some of her marital bliss to carry on into the new marriage. Anything can be borrowed but it must be returned after!

Green your Big Day
As we sit here with winter just around the corner I am already looking forward to warm summer mornings at the local farmers market. In recent years the popularity of choosing local and/or organic produce, meats, and dairy has sky rocketed as has buy local campaigns in many communities across the country, so why not bring the buy local movement into your wedding.
Choosing to deal with local vendors instead of a big box store/chain helps keep your dollars in your community, studies estimate that when you spend $100 at a locally owned business and $68 of that stays in the community but when you spend $100 at a national chain only $42 stays in the community. Often times small local business purchase form other local businesses keeping more dollars local and helping to reduce packaging and transportation costs.
Sourcing local and picking flowers and other items that are in season will also help you save some green!
Something New…
The tradition of Something New represents good luck and success for the bride and groom in their new married life, often times the gown is used as the new item.
Here are a few other ideas for your Something New!
- A new veil
- Pretty new lingerie
- Jewelry
- A new lipstick color
- New shoes (One of our favorite things)
